Full or Complete dentures are used to replace all the teeth or just a small amount teeth on the upper or lower jaw. Partial dentures fill in the areas created by missing teeth and also prevent the existing teeth from moving out of place.
What to expect
Dentures are used to replace teeth that are missing or broken, there are 2 types used during treatment. A complete pair of dentures will be used if you don’t have any natural teeth remaining. A partial pair is used if you have some natural teeth remaining and are used to fill the gaps. Usually, the dentist will take an impression of your mouth during an appointment which will then get sent off dental clinic technician who will make your denture and then send it to you.

What is the price? – The treatment is a band 3 treatment which means that it costs around £200 for an NHS dental patient, a private patient can cost up to £600 for a complete set of dentures.
how long will it take? – Whilst dentures can last up to 7 years the actual treatment can last a couple of sessions. Regular check-ups are needed afterwards however to make sure everything is working correctly
How often should I wear them? – during the first days after the treatment, you are asked to wear them constantly however after your mouth has got used to it then you can take them off at night
Will certain food be restricted ? – Initially, you should avoid any hard food after first getting them. Once your mouth has adapted you can then go back to eating normally.
Does my mouth need any special care? – If you have a complete pair then you are asked to brush around the gums, tongue and roof of your mouth. A partial pair of dentures means you should brush your natural teeth twice a day.
