Root Canals

Root Canals

Root canal treatment (endodontics) is a dental procedure used to treat infection at the centre of a tooth.

It can help save the tooth from having to be removed completely but it has to be done early before the infection solidifies

What to expect

Usually, you will undergo a dental examination to identify the problematic tooth and the dentist will talk about the treatment plan. After this, an X-Ray will be required to gain an idea of the severity of the problem. The actual operation will start with an anaesthetic which will numb any pain, a drill will then be used to create to give access to the infection which will then be cleaned out. A seal will then be applied to the tooth to allow it to heal.
